Daisy works as a waitress in a nice, little Italian restaurant. The restaurant has a very old chef who is slow at cooking. Because of this, the restaurant has a small menu with only three starters: garlic bread, Caprese salad and shrimp, and four mains: risotto, lasagne, pizza and ravioli.
On a typical day, Daisy gets to work a little bit late because there are never any customers for the first hour. The kind of people who come to eat at the restaurant are very relaxed. She serves about six groups of people and then she just has to wash up the dishes and she can go home. Nothing out of the ordinary usually happens at Daisy’s restaurant.
However, last Friday was not a typical day at work. Last Friday was a very eventful day for Daisy. In the afternoon, one of the customers started finding it very hard to breathe when something he ate went down the wrong way, and Daisy had to help him by slapping his back until he coughed up his food.
Later on, Daisy was washing her hands with soap, but she forgot to dry them. Then she went to take the tray through to the dining area, but it slipped out of her hands, and the food went all over the floor. The people clapped and smiled to try to make Daisy feel better, but she just felt embarrassed.
